Chief Clinical Officer
Dennis graduated in 1990 from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science with a degree in Pharmacy. He then went on to practice successfully as a retail pharmacist for the next 10 years. However, having struggled with personal addiction issues throughout his early life, Dennis made the courageous decision to seek help. After completing his own treatment program, he began volunteering his time at the facility where he found his recovery, while working on his Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Certification as a Master’s Level Addiction Professional in the state of Florida, including credentialing with the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium. Along the way, Dennis acquired training in EMDR, psychodrama, smoking cessation, compulsive gambling, trauma resolution, intimacy disorders and specialization in the treatment of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
In addition, Dennis is credentialed with the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and completed Level One Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. He received mentorship under David Myers, M.D, FASAM, CAP, one of Florida’s pioneers in addiction treatment, and specialized in the treatment of licensed health care professionals referred by various state Physician Health Programs. Dennis has spent the last 15 years focused on treating this unique population. Resurgence Tampa Bay is a passion project for Dennis, and his years of experience working to treat addictions in the Tampa Bay community are reflected in this organization.
